Why is my shipment taking so long?

Ocean Freight Global Logistics Group

Dear Customers,

Some of you may have already noticed that shipping times have been extended in recent months. Several reasons are responsible for this. Over the past few years, shipping companies have, for cost reasons, increasingly deployed fewer but larger ships, which has generally extended waiting times for shipping space.

The global pandemic has led to more and more time being spent at home, and as a result, more goods are being purchased than in previous years. The volume of shipments has risen rapidly, and ports worldwide are being flooded with goods. Added to this is the shortage of port workers, thanks to Covid-19.

Shippers are waiting for empty containers and available space on ships. Meanwhile, many ships are waiting to unload near the full ports. Last but not least, the situation with the blocked Suez Canal has added to this, which will certainly leave its mark in certain shipping areas.

However, car imports continue to rise, and we are constantly in communication with our overseas partners to keep waiting times as short as possible. Please understand that shipments may take longer than usual and that in some cases, additional costs may arise from the shipping companies. On our part, everything remains unchanged: we prepare all documentation in good time, and our warehouse staff unpack containers on the day they arrive. We continue to offer 10 days of free storage for your vehicles if they were imported through us.
